If Smart ForTwo ever wants to test out another model for the value of fuel economy on a small business, by all means Pick Me, Pick Me we'd be glad to add another to our company. Very concerned as car will often act up , cannot shift, cannot lock doors, & also had to leave her car unlocked with key in the ignition as she could not put car in park & could not remove key or lock the doors. This has been a reoccurring problem & she has had it repaired at least (control board) twice ....now it is acting up again. I have checked web blogs re this problem & it is certainly not an unknown problem. Her car is still under warranty until April 2012 so she is very concerned about the cost of owning a car that does this at least 2 or 3 times a year. (She has been able to "unlock" the shifter a few of the times without taking it in for repairs. I notice the American blogs are discussing the same problems so it has been a problem with these cars for at least seven years. Kindly advise if a recall or a fix for this problem has been initiated as this is certainly not being corrected by replacing a faulty control board with another faulty control board.
